Ronald Heginbotham

Ronald A. Heginbotham, 80, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Oakland died on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.  Born on November 27, 1940, in Freeport, PA, he was the son of the late Everett P. and Ruby A. (Claypoole) Heginbotham.

Ronald attended both Penn State University and Garrett College. He worked for Bausch & Lomb, in both Rochester, NY and Oakland, MD, and retired after thirty-six years of service. He was a member of the Darkesville United Methodist Church in Inwood, WV and had also been a member of the Methodist Men at Bethel United Methodist in Mtn. Lake Park, MD. Ronald was also a member of the Mountain Top Cruisers Club and the Cushman Club of America. In addition to spending time with his family, he loved custom and antique cars and gardening.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce (Pearce) Heginbotham; two sons, Gary Heginbotham and wife Lori of Morgantown, WV and Larry Heginbotham and wife Marilyn Mason of Falling Waters, WV; a daughter, Lora Whitmore and husband Todd of Berkeley Springs, WV; grandchildren, Jennifer Foster, Mark Whitmore, Weston Heginbotham, Madison Heginbotham, Brodie Heginbotham, Joshua Heginbotham, and Kaitlyn Heginbotham; three step grandchildren, Chelsee Whitmore, Isaac Mason and Jacob Mason; great grandchildren, Brighton Foster, Maxton Foster, Baylor Whittington, and Ansley Heginbotham; sisters in law, Donna Heginbotham and Fay Pearce; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Colson and Pearce Foster, and a brother, Robert Heginbotham.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 10 AM to 12 PM. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM with Pastor John Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
