Richard Ira Weeks, 82, of Oakland, MD went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 11, 2021. He was born in Loch Lynn, MD on July 9, 1938; a son to the late Ira Wheat Weeks and Elma Naomi (Shaffer) Weeks. 

Mr. Weeks graduated from Southern High School. After graduation, he enlisted with the Army National Guard and served the Country for the majority of his life; earning the rank of Staff SGT. He worked for various retailers over the years as a manager. He...

Richard Ira Weeks, 82, of Oakland, MD went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 11, 2021. He was born in Loch Lynn, MD on July 9, 1938; a son to the late Ira Wheat Weeks and Elma Naomi (Shaffer) Weeks. 

Mr. Weeks graduated from Southern High School. After graduation, he enlisted with the Army National Guard and served the Country for the majority of his life; earning the rank of Staff SGT. He worked for various retailers over the years as a manager. He enjoyed bowling, singing, and loved caring for his cat. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. He was also a member of a barbershop chorus, Chorus of the Chesapeake with whom he traveled the Country. He was a gentle man with a great sense of humor. He never passed up an opportunity to help anyone in need. 

Left to cherish his memories are two daughters; Marcy Mattern of Watertown, SD and Wendy Carl and husband Brian of Red Lion, PA; four grandchildren, William and Mackenzie Mattern, Garrett and Allison Carl; three siblings, Isabella Scmidt of Oakland, MD, Eula Mae Antkievicz and husband Frank of Mechanicsville, VA and Walter Weeks and wife Harriett of Pleasant Valley, MD. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Betty Beckman, James Weeks, Henrietta Mills, Donald Weeks, Sr., and twin brother, Raymond Ora Weeks. 

Mr. Weeks’s request for cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Homes, P.A., Oakland is honored to be serving the Weeks family.
