Ray Teets

Ray A. Teets, 83, of Oakland died on Monday, June 15 ,2020, at his home. Born on May 17, 1937, in Fairchance, PA, he was the son of the late Ray A. and Loretta (Beatty) Teets. Ray had owned the Charlesmont Beauty Salon in Dundalk for ten years and, after moving to Oakland, was the transportation director for Community Action. He was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren and was a volunteer at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home for twenty-six years. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed football, puzzles, studying his bible and leading souls to Christ. Ray is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Harvey) Teets; children, Hope Green and husband David, Lorie R. Friend, Bryan Shepherd and wife Beth, and Ralph "Marty" Shepherd; step-children, Charles Harvey and wife Joan, Debra Beckman and friend Sandy Nice, Paul Harvey and wife Amy, and Dan Beckman and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Michael Green, Heather Green Gladfelter and husband Brett, Daniel Green, Christen L. Coddington, Christopher L. Friend, Autumn R. Friend, Jason, Jessica and Brett Shepherd, and Faith and Stephanie Shepherd; great grandchildren, Mason and Addison Gladfelter; step grandchildren, Brison Harvey and wife Hannah, Sara Harvey, Jaiden Harvey, and Regan Harvey, Stacey Jeffries and husband Jim, and Rob Beckman and partner Brian Bowers; step great great grandchildren, Logan Jeffries, Dalton Jeffries and wife Nicole, and Branson Jeffries; and a step great great great grandchild, Karsyn Jeffries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife, Eleanor F. Teets, in 2005. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, from 4 to 6 PM. We ask that you wear a face covering, observe safe social distancing and refrain from attending if you or a family member are ill. Funeral service will be private and private interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Baltimore.
