Quintin Lynn Guthrie, 57, of Oakland died on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 29, 1964, Oakland, he was the son of Marvin G. "Red" Guthrie and Sylvia May Smith, both of Oakland.
Quintin was a 1982 graduate of Southern High School and served in the US Army National Guard from 1982-88. He was a member of the Proctor-Kildow American Legion Post #71 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 071. His occupations consisted of working for Coca-Cola and then driving from Russell Sines at Deep Creek Ready Mix for twenty-six years. He established many good friendships from working in the concrete industry. Quintin's strong love of bowling lead him to working for Par-Matt Lanes, under Nancy and Curt Glotfelty, as a side job just to help out and Par-Matt Lanes was the foundation of his proud achievements consisting of five "300" games. Quintin was well-known through jobs and the many bowling leagues of which he was a member. He gained extra family through bowling. Quintin volunteered when possible and enjoyed helping with the Cindy's Fund Art Beckman Breakfast and Relay for Life as well as many others. In addition to bowling, he enjoyed NASCAR, football, traveling, camping, visiting with friends and family, and watching his children and grandchildren grow. He will be remembered as a hard worker with a constant positive attitude.
In addition to his parents, Quintin is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Teresa (Schrier) Guthrie; his children, Trista Hotsinpiller and husband Scott, Quintin Lynn Guthrie, Jr. and spouse Kayla, Jake Guthrie and Amelia Guthrie, all of Oakland; grandchildren, Trinity Hechmer, Abigail Sisler, Harper Guthrie, Aliza Guthrie and Karmen Guthrie; his brothers and sisters, Norman Guthrie and wife Glenna of Oakland, Marvin Eugene "Dino" Guthrie and wife Vicki of Oakland, Sonya Boerner and husband Preston of Palm Bay, FL, and Christie Reckart and husband Jason of Oakland; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on  from Monday, February 28, 2022, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Rd, Oakland, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11 AM with his brother in law, Preston Boerner officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Swanton, with military honors accorded by the combined honor guard of the Proctor-Kildow American Legion Post #71 and the Deer Park VFW Post #10077.
Quintin's family wishes to extend a "thank you" to everyone for the thoughts and prayers throughout this journey. "He can be healed with no more pain or worry."
