Margaret Moran

Margaret Rose Moran, 98, of Swanton died on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV. Born on September 11, 1923, in Elk Garden, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Babb and Rose Ann (Kenny) Schwinabart.

In her early years, Margaret was a telephone operator for C & P Telephone Company.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Oakland Golf Club and a devout Catholic, participating in mass at St. Peter the Apostle Church of Oakland and Father Burn’s mass on the grass in Deep Creek Lake. Members of those organizations will remember her as a great woman who would help anyone. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother and grandmother by many.

She is survived by children, Charles E. Moran, Jr., Thomas L. Moran and partner Autumn McDaniel, and Joseph P. Moran and wife Barbara; six granddaughters, Heather Moran Sinclair, Stacia Moran Carr and husband Rodney, Courtney Moran Colaw and husband Robert, Nicole Lyn Moran Napier and husband Don, Maggie Rose Moran and partner Shane McManus, and Kerri Lyn Moran Voisine and husband Clay; nine great grandchildren, Tyler Joseph Colaw and partner Nicole Walti, Evan Robert Colaw, Sara Elizabeth Carr and partner Sean Devlin, Emma Leigh Carr, Kyla Grace Carr, Belle Moran Sinclair, Robert Charles Sinclair, Kacey Voisine and Hanna Voisine; and two great great grandchildren, Sadie Jack Colaw and Briar James Devlin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles Edward Moran, Sr., in 2014.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
