Jessie Fedorow

August 2, 1926 — July 19, 2022

Oakland

Jessie May Fedorow, 95, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home on July 19, 2022. Born on August 2, 1926, in Aurora, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Margaret E. Myers.

Whenever anyone asked her about her childhood, she would say she and her sister Mary hated washing dishes all the time.

She will long be remembered for the wonderful lemon and coconut pies and pineapple upside down cakes that she made for any occasion. She kept us all coming back for the family reunions and her cucumber salad. Jessie was dedicated to her faith and was always willing to provide her pies and cakes for church dinners.

If you were willing to learn how to play the piano or embroidery, she was right there and ready and willing to teach. How could one not feel happy to go back to the homestead since you knew you were always welcome with open arms? The family always loved going there and playing board games and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Jessie was always concerned about not having any children, but her children are her nieces and nephews that showered her with love and will so miss her.

Jessie worked many years at Sterling chicken plant and that is where she met Leonid "Doc" and he finally wore her down and she agreed to marry him. That wonderful reunion only lasted 5 weeks when he passed away from a heart attack. Later, she worked several years for Hopemont State Hospital in Terra Alta in the housekeeping department and made several friends there.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews; along with a step daughter, Nadine (Fedorow) Batorsky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonid Fedorow; siblings, Otis Allen Lee, his first wife, Edith (Kisner) and his second wife, Eva Barkman, Mary Elizabeth and husband Thomas McMillen, Nellie Virginia, her first husband, George Brooks, her second husband, Milo Archbold, and her third husband, Charles McCrath, Harold Junior, his first wife, Mary Belle (Neff), and his second wife, Katherine (Stemple) Myers, Homer Stanley and wife Marguerite (Bishop), and James Russell and wife Beulah (Evans).
