Helen Foltz

Helen Louise (Layton) Foltz, 90, of Bayard, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Cortland Acres.  Born on July 4, 1928 in Bayard, WV, she is the daughter of the late Roy and Myrtle (White) Layton.  Helen was a graduate of Bayard High School.  She was a member of the Bayard United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting.  In her later years, she and Earl traveled across the United States visiting family and seeking adventure.  She was a loving Grandma who cared deeply for her grandchildren.  Helen is survived by her son, Michael Foltz and wife Vonda of Bayard; grandchildren, Randall “Scott” Foltz and wife Carol, Michael “Aaron” Foltz, Patrick Foltz and wife Betsy, Dana (Foltz) Eyler and husband Steven; great-grandchildren, Lily, Josh, Owen, Jocelyn, Marylin and Randalin; a sister, Marian Scripp and husband Tony; a brother, Steve Layton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Earl A. Foltz in September 2012; a son, Randall “Randy” Foltz; and a sister, Betty Jane Blizzard.  Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5-7 PM.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10 AM with Rev. William McCallister officiating.  Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton, WV. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff of the Day Break Wing at Cortland Acres for the outstanding care of their Mother.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bayard United Methodist Church. www.csfredlockfh.com
