Gail Schrock

Gail A. Schrock, 67, of Oakland died on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at her home.  Born on July 21, 1951, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Hobert J. and Ramona J. (Bowman) Shillingburg.  She was a graduate of Southern High School and went on to work for Sterling Optical, Arrowhead Machine Shop, was a manager for Dollar General and finished her career at Arby’s.  She was an honorary member of the Terra Alta VFW.  In addition to spending time with her family, Gail enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and having bonfires.  She will be fondly remembered as a people person who made friends easily where ever she went.  She is survived by two sons, Jody Crosco of Hagerstown and Todd Crosco and wife Peggy of Falling Waters, WV; grandchildren, Anthony Lee Crosco and Brianna Crosco; a great grandson, Bentley; her stepmother, Doris Shillingburg of Oakland; two stepbrothers, John Shillingburg of Aurora, WV and Paul Shillingburg of Grantsville; aunts, Janice Tackett of Aurora, WV and Linda Bowman of Oakland; her first husband, Clarence Eugene Crosco of Meyersville, MD; special nieces, Felicia, Sandra and Karen; her guardian angel, Bill Hyde; her cat, Cotton; dogs, Taco and Raven; and numerous cousins and nieces.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Shillingburg; uncles, Ted Bowman, Tom Fraley and Julian “Shorty” Tackett; and an aunt, Grace Fraley.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry at Oak Park Church of the Brethren, 110 Church Ln., Oakland, MD 21550 or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland.
