Cleta Tasker

Cleta Raye Tasker, of McHenry, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Dennett Road Manor. Born on July 31, 1933 in Sang Run, she was the daughter of the late George and Martha (Lytle) Dewitt.  Cleta was a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a hard-working woman, caring for her home and her family including of several foster children over the years. Outside her home she worked as a telephone operator, at Earl Shatzer’s Meat Market and at Hoyes Bakery where she was known for her world-famous cinnamon rolls. She was a virtuous woman serving the Lord through her efforts at Calvary Tabernacle, Accident, MD where she was a member and also in her daily life where she led her family in the Christian way with integrity, discipline and love. She was a member of the McHenry Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  Cleta’s hands were never idle. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She had a kind and generous nature. Cleta loved her family and the Lord with all of her heart.  Cleta is survived by two children, Connie Michaels and husband Jeff of Oakland, George E. Tasker and wife Anne of Pocomoke City, MD; grandchildren, Sherri Parsons and husband John of McHenry, Shelly Tasker and companion Steve of Pocomoke City; great grandchildren, Andrew Daniels of FL, Trevor Moats of Pocomoke City, Zachary Moats of McHenry, Abigail Daniels of GA, Cheyenne Moats of McHenry; siblings, Barbara Peck, Pat Bowers and husband Ronnie, and Wilma Rodeheaver. In addition to her parents, Cleta was preceded in death by her husband John E. Tasker; a sister, Betty Harvey; and three brothers-in-law, Ken Peck, Dale Rodeheaver and Dale Harvey. Friends will be received at the Calvary Tabernacle, 27893 Garrett Highway, Accident, MD on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6-8 PM and again on Saturday, February 29 from 12-1 PM at which time there will be a memorial service with Pastor Pascal Crites officiating.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Tabernacle, 27893 Garrett Highway, Accident, MD 21520.
