Claretta Hawk

Claretta Jean Hawk, 81, of Mount Storm, WV, passed away December 1, 2021, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on August 13, 1940, in Bayard, WV, to the late Benjamin and Mary (Bonner) Helmick.

Jean was a graduate of Southern High School. She loved BINGO, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Locust Grove Church in Mt. Storm.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky H. Minnick and wife Millie, Norman H. Minnick Jr., and partner Linda and Jeffery C. Minnick; daughters, Patricia J. Chapman and husband Mick and Rhonda L. Morgan; grandchildren, Mickey B. Chapman, Michael Chapman, Nicole Ashby, Chad Minnick, Keli Minnick and Matthew S. Morgan; great grandchildren, Jordan Ashby, Aubrey Ashby, Sydney Chapman, Aliyah Chapman, Kylee Chapman, Landon Chapman, Carter Minnick and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Loran J. Hawk; a great grandson, Aaron Ashby; siblings, Juanita Hawk, Dick Plaugher, Dorothy Paugh, Robert Helmick, Carolyn Tasker, and Gerald Plaugher.

Friends will be received, Monday, December 6, 2021, from 4 to 6 pm at Locust Grove Church, Mount Storm, WV. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the church with Pastor Kevin Staggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
