Carawan Peed

August 22, 1937 — March 8, 2021

Oakland

Carawan E "Bud" Peed, 83, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Garrett Regional Medical Center with his wife by his side.

Bud is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia M Mullinix, his brother Donald R Peed of King George VA, nephew D Mark Peed and family of King George VA, and nephew Darran R Peed and family of Manchester MD.

Bud treasured his close friendship with family members, with several special members of the Maryland State Police, with the congregation of St. John's Episcopal Church, with the "Hooligans" who met at Savage River State Forest Gun Range, with the staffs of the Ruth Enlow Library and the Garrett County Historical Society where he volunteered in his healthy younger years, and more recently with his Manx neighbors.

Bud was a history buff who especially enjoyed reading about the events surrounding the Civil War and WWII.  He was passionate about antique British cars and drove his Mini Moke in the Autumn Glory Parade and chauffeured couples in his Bentley for several Garrett County weddings.  He had tremendous respect for nature and animals and enjoyed watching the night sky and the wildlife ambling through our property.  There's a long list of cats that found a loving home with him over many years.  He loved to travel and would talk endlessly about the wonders of the Isle of Man, UK, to anyone who would listen.

Bud's wishes for cremation will be honored and no services will be held.

Donations in Bud's memory may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, PO Box 414, Oakland MD 21550, or to the Garrett County Historical Society, 107 S Second St, Oakland MD 21550.

The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is honored to be serving the Peed family at this time.
