Brenda Dignan

Brenda A. (Smith) Dignan, 69, of Bayard, WV, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on May 24, 1949 in Colleton County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ervine and Connie Smith. Brenda was an in-home health caregiver. She was a member of the Bayard Church of God. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Brenda is survived by her husband, Hayes Dignan; a son, Dennis Murphy, Jr. and wife LeAnn of Augusta, SC; a daughter, Cheryl Murphy of Augusta, SC; stepchildren, Thomas Dignan and wife Jen Hee of GA, Wendy Moreland of Morgantown, William Dignan, Jr. and Amy of Gainesville, VA, and Michelle Steyer of Penhook, VA; twenty-four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a brother, Johnny Smith and wife Carol of Charleston, SC. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Smith. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Bayard Church of God on Monday, May 6, 2019, at 11 AM with Pastor Phillip Marcum officiating. Interment will be in the Bayard Cemetery.
