Beulah Latin

December 25, 1933 — January 1, 2021

Oakland

Beulah "Lois" DeWitt Latin, 87, of Oakland, woke up in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Friday, January 1, 2021.
Born on December 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bliss and Grace (Cross) Reams.
She was famous for her cooking and good humor. She loved to feed people. Many people were recipients of her crocheted dishcloths. Her family was her reason for living, cooking was her passion and her mission on earth was to feed them all their favorite dishes. Lately, she had been anxiously awaiting her "new body" that could see clearly, hear everything, wouldn't have any pain and could move freely. She now has that glorified body. She lived until her 87th birthday, which was on Christmas day.
She was a lifelong member of the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School, served meals, sang in the choir, and, along with her husband Paul, were youth counselors, Bible School directors, conference delegates and served as deacons. Her great grandfather, Thomas Cross, helped to found the church and her father and brothers helped to build the building as it stands today.
After Paul's death, she was employed at Bausch & Lomb. She loved to laugh and make others laugh as many who worked with her can attest.
She has been reunited with her beloved husband Paul William DeWitt and they are both now singing with her parents, brothers and sisters. As they rejoice around the throne of God, left to mourn and anxiously await our reunion with them are her daughters, Debra DeWitt and Paula Ridenour and husband Harold; three grandchildren, Gary Upole and wife Stacie, Carrie Luckel and husband Kevin, and David Upole and fiancee Lora; six great grandchildren, Taylor Preston and husband Chris, Hannah Kisner and husband Dustin, Hunter Luckel and fiancee Brooklynn, Isaac Upole, Gracyn Upole, and Brayden Upole; a bonus great granddaughter, Tehya Teets; three great great grandsons, Ashton Upole, Lincoln Preston and Kash Preston, are also left to mourn her loss. Her only sibling left on earth is her brother, Ralph Reams and wife Sheila. She also leaves two sisters in law, Nina Reams and Ruby DeWitt, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved so much! She had a special neighbor later in life at her apartment building, Annabelle Sanner. She and Annabelle checked on and gave each other encouragement.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Carl, Gerald "Jud", Art, and Leroy "Bob" Reams, and sisters, Genevieve Hahn and Hazel Friend.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St. Oakland, on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM.
