Benjamin Sharps

May 31, 2018 — August 18, 2021

Oakland

Benjamin "Benny" Cade Sharps, 3, of Oakland, was a beloved son, brother, grandson, great grandson, and renowned slayer of dragons. He left this world peacefully and comfortably, listening to his favorite music, in the arms of his mother and father on August 18, 2021.

Benny was born to Tasha and Nick Sharps on May 31, 2018. He was born with many, complex congenital heart defects (CHD), but fought those dragons and radiated joy. Though Benny's life lasted only three short years they were filled with love, laughter, joy, and mischief. Benny loved playing with his older brother and best friend, Sam, and his younger brother and arch-rival, Jonathan "Jojo". A connoisseur of rock music, Benny enjoyed head-banging and strumming on his guitar-the heavier the rock the better. Benny delighted in playing in the water and exploring outside. He took great pleasure in shooting his Nerf guns and despite being blind in his right eye he had impressive accuracy. Benny was well known for an infectious trademark smile, equal parts sweet and ornery, and he was always the coolest dude in the room. He feared nothing and loved fiercely.

He is survived by his adoring mother and father, Tasha and Nick Sharps; ever loyal brothers Sam and Jonathan Sharps; grand parents Robin and Rodney Bernard, Preston and Ann Sharps, and Geni Ainsworth; and great grand parents Robert Sharps, Elsie Jean Sisler, and Harland Bernard. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Though he will be missed dearly and loved always, Benny the Dragonslayer has earned his rest and eternal reward.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A private family funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
