Shirley Thomas

Shirley Faith Thomas, 76, of Aurora, passed away on July 2, 2024, at Cortland Acres. Born on August 15, 1947, in Horseshoe Run, she was the daughter of the late Frances H. Starr and Avelue Jean (Harsh) Starr.

For most of Shirley's adult life she lived in Akron, OH, briefly attended Akron University, and for many years worked as a sales clerk at Sally's Beauty Store and eventually moved back to Aurora. She was a member of the Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church, and served as a Ladies Aide. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, quilting and watching cartoons.

She is survived by a son, Larry Neil Harvey and wife Kari; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three siblings, Genny Casto and husband Alan of OH, Terry Starr of Aurora, and Debra Krites and husband Bob of Fort Wayne, IN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Thomas; and two sons, William Charles Jamison, and John Joseph Jamison.

Shirley's wishes to be cremated was honored and a celebration of life will be held on August 10, 2024, at 11 AM in the Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church, with a meal following the service. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving Shirley's family at this time.
