Roy "Burt" Davis

Roy Burton "Burt" Davis, 79, of Oakland died on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born on December 28, 1938 in Swanton, he was the son of the late Robert and Maude (Brown) Davis.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and had worked in general services at the Garrett County Court House.  He was also an ordained deacon who taught Sunday school at Pleasant View Baptist Church.  He will be remembered for loving the outdoors and spending many hours watching wildlife. He is survived by two children, Sharon Lee and husband Harland of Swanton and Bryan Davis and wife Mindy of Oakland; grandchildren, Shelly Lee, Rachelle Gilpin and Brooke Davis and Courtney, Shayla and Hunter Sanders; great grandchildren, Kriya, Thamoor and Kerianna Lee and Liam Sisler; siblings, Elwood, Robert, William and James Davis, Nancy Braham, Geraldine Harding, Patsy Myers, Helen Marley, Joyce Livingood, Susie Steyer and Mildred Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Davis and his siblings, Donald, Junior and Garry Davis and Mary Calcamp.  Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, from 3 to 7 PM.  A funeral service will be held in the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 8931 Garrett Hwy, Oakland on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 11 AM. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
