He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rose Marie (Bohon) Mullenax, daughters Lona Filsinger, Swanton, MD, Debra Wagner (Larry), and Trish Rumer (Dave) both of Oakland, MD; and son Roy Wayne Mullenax (Melissa) of Horse Shoe Run. He has one surviving sibling, Jean Toothman, Shinnston, WV and his beloved cat, Peek-a-boo.
In 1956 Roy and Marie purchased their farm, working the farm with a team of horses for over 10 years before upgrading to a Case tractor. He loved farming and milking cows, by hand, with his beloved sidekick, Jan, for many years. He was employed at the age of 16 by Cecil Evans to work in the woods cutting timber. From there he went to work on the sawmill for Sam Frazee. He ended his timber career in 1991 after retiring from Coastal Lumber, where he was a dedicated and loyal employee for over 40 years.
After retirement he found great pleasure in spending time at the Terra Alta Stockyard, buying and selling and enjoying time being spent with the "old timers" there. He would also make numerous trips into Sugarlands in his Dodge pickup to check on the cattle grazing on his homeplace. He will be remembered as being a hardworking and honest man along with being an awesome Pop-Pop to his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a man of few words but you knew where you stood in his life.
