Robert F. Rodeheaver, 88, of Oakland, passed away from natural causes on Saturday, May 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 12, 1930, in Mountain Dale, WV, Bob was the son of the late Frank and Ruby Rodeheaver. Bob grew up in Preston County, WV and graduated from Bruceton Mills High School in 1948. He married his high school sweetheart, Rosetta Copeman in 1950. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1952 and made his home in Oakland, MD to take a teaching position as an art teacher at Southern High School. He then served as the principal of Center Street Elementary School, Northern High School and Southern High School. He moved on to become the supervisor of curriculum development at the Garrett County Board of Education. He retired from the school system and had a second career in sales with Woodman of the World Life Insurance Company. He was an active member of the community through his church, the Rotary Club and the Historical Society. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Bob was an avid gardener, always raising more tomatoes than could be counted each summer, a prolific artist and had a great interest in his family’s genealogy and local history. He was looking forward to living at his summer home on Deep Lake, tending his flower and vegetable gardens, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a kind and loving son, husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. He leaves a legacy of faith, love, kindness, generosity, integrity and laughter behind him. He will be greatly missed. Bob is survived by his four children, Randy Rodeheaver, Rhonda Ammann, Robin Meek and Roslyn Rodeheaver and their spouses Denise Rinker, Albert Ammann, and John Meek; five grandchildren, Megan Moore, Hannah Griffin, Wesley, Elliott and Jessica Meek; three great-grandchildren, Naomi Moore, Evangeline Griffin and Nova Meek; and two siblings, Clayton Rodeheaver and Charlotte League.
