Robert Hensley

Robert Ellsworth Hensley, Jr., 57, of Friendsville, died on Friday, August 11, 2023. Born on July 20, 1966, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Robert Ellsworth Hensley, Sr. and Bertha Esther (Thomas) Gable.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Bob was a telecommunications Project Manager for 25 years and served as Commander of Deer Park VFW Post #10077 for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann (Friend) Hensley; his six children, Travis Hensley and wife Heather, Cody Hensley and fiancée Emalee Dicks, Noah Hensley, Joey Hensley, Chelsea Savage and husband Cody, and Tyler Hensley of Haze; five grandchildren, Addison, Jed, Harper, Eliana and Robert; nine siblings, Laura Brown and husband Robert, Joe Thomas and wife Tina, Melissa Hensley Myrick, Alice Hensley, Felicia Hensley, George Hensley and wife Joni, Jason Hensley and wife Bevian, and Robert Dale Hensley; and a lifetime friend and brother, Roger Sisler.

Robert continued to give even after this death by donating to C.O.R.E. with the gift of organ and tissue.

A life celebration was held this past Sunday at the Deer Park VFW Post #10077. If desired, memorial may be made to a Veterans Organization of one's choice.
