Paul Allen Reese, 70, of Oakland, passed away on Friday, September 16th, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on June 4, 1952, in Confluence, PA, he was the son of Glenna Reese Hoecker and the late Ivan Paul Reese.
Paul was a 1970 graduate of Northern Garrett High School and attended University of Maryland for three and a half years. He was an avid reader, loved to fish every spring, and hunt every fall and spend time with his fellow outdoorsmen. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and took immense joy in coaching Oakland little league baseball. In addition, he recently embarked on a new interest in camping at Big Bear Lake with family and friends. He began his career at Bausch and Lomb in September of 1973 in the Slurry department supporting the manufacturing process. After several years in the Slurry area, he was promoted to group leader of the Bifocal Department where he met his future wife. After Bausch and Lomb discontinued the manufacture of bifocals, Paul traveled to New York for specialized training in lens edging, a skill he brought back to Oakland. Paul would go on to manage the Lens Edging Department at the Oakland plant and would later serve as the Financial Manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of manufacturing sunglasses. After several years, he was promoted to Manufacturing Supervisor in the Plastic Frame Manufacturing Department.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 43 years, Kathy Reese, along with two daughters, Ashley Reese and husband Daniel DeWitt, and Holly McKenrick and husband Scott McKenrick. In addition to his immediate family, he shares a special bond with his siblings Alice Clevenger, James Reese and particularly Steve Reese who gave him an extra 15 years of life through kidney donation. Although he hated to admit it, Paul enjoyed time spent with his grand-dogs while dog-sitting.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 4 to 8 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St. Oakland.
