Maxine Fairchild

On the morning of August 23, 2023, Maxine Kirk Fairchild, 90, of Oakland, MD, went home to the lord, surrounded by love. She was born on November 15, 1932, in Beauty, KY. She was the daughter of the late Clay and Maude Kirk.

Maxine lived a fulfilled life as the matriarch of her family. Hard working and devoted, she found great joy in tending to her home, and raising her children and grandchildren. Maxine enjoyed puzzles, literature, music, and her dog, Artie. Maxine was well known for her deep affection and genuine love for children. Her nurturing spirit and warm interactions with young ones touched the hearts of many.

Maxine is survived by her children, Randall Dials and wife Rita, Michael Fairchild, and Vicki Savage and husband Lydell; her grandchildren, Ryan Dials, Robbie Dials and wife Amber, Denise Deal and husband Jim, Nicole Bream and husband Nick, Dustin Buchanan and wife Tara, Karla Atha and husband Josh, Gabe Savage and wife Tasha, Nicole Pershing and husband James, Elizabeth Proudfoot and husband Drew, and DJ Savage and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Grayson Dials, Henry Dials, Camden Buchanan, Kaylee Buchanan, Anthony Buchanan, Amanda Bream, Joseph Bream, Jessi Bream, Kelley Barnickel and husband Brian, Chelsea Deal, Kristen Deal, Jimmy Deal, Madison Deal, Kaitlyn Lowry, Savannah Atha, Caroline Lowry, Kacey Savage, Brady Alexander, Bryson Alexander, Wyatt Alexander, Abiella Alexander, Evelyn Proudfoot, and Eleanor Proudfoot; great great grandchildren, Holden Barnickel and Leighton Barnickel; a sister, Joyce Kirk Smithson; and cherished family friends, Tara Chapman and Zoey Roy.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Morris and husband Melvin; a grandson, Melvin Morris III; and siblings, Chester Kirk, Pauline Johnson, Thorney "Eddie" Kirk, Clay Kirk Jr., Bobby Kirk, and Sue Hafercamp.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
