Linda Heatherman

Linda D. Heatherman, 70, of Oakland, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.  Born on April 10, 1948 in Fairlea, WV, she is the daughter of the late Robert L. and Illeta (Anderson) Deitz.  Linda attended Marshall University and West Virginia University where she graduated with a Masters of Social Work degree.  She was employed by the Garrett County Department of Social Services as a social worker.  She was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.  Grammie and Grandma, as she was fondly known by her grandchildren, had a heart of gold.  She enjoyed spending time with her family making magical memories in the kitchen, traveling to Marshall games with Joe and being on the beach.  She was very creative and made life super fun.  She had a very generous nature and was full of love and forgiveness.   “She was the best Grammie in the Universe!”  Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenna J. “Joe” Heatherman, III; four daughters, Patricia Mustipher and husband Sam of Owings Mills, MD, Kristina Heatherman and  Tom Moran of Dallastown, PA, Beth Lucadamo (her twin) and husband Michael of Clarksburg, MD, and Kelli A. Heatherman of Oakland; grandchildren, Samuel Mustipher, II, Patrick “P.J.” Mustipher, Chase Moran, Cody Moran, Rocco Lucadamo (her triplet); a brother, Robert “Bobby” Deitz and wife Georgene; nieces, Regina Deitz, Bobbie Jo Butcher; a nephew, Kevin Deitz; and a friend who was like a daughter, Theresa Kleppinger.  Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 5-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 208 S 4thSt., Oakland on Saturday, August 25 at noon with Fr. Doug Kenney officiating.  Linda’s family would like to thank Brenda Reckner of Cindy’s Fund, Hospice of Garrett County, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and her coworkers at GC Dept. of Social Services for the love and support shown during Linda’s illness.  Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cindy’s Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550 or to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.  www.csfredlockfh.com
