Laureen McCormick-Kooyman

Laureen Ann McCormick-Kooyman, 63, of Oakland, died on August 23, 2019 after an extended illness. Born in Charleroi, Pa., on October 2, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Cliff and Kathleen McCormick. Laureen graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Academy of Monroeville, PA, and attended La Rouche College in Pittsburgh, Pa. Laureen spent her childhood in Pennsylvania and later moved to Deep Creek Lake, MD. She worked a variety of jobs around the lake. The light of her life was always her children and grandchildren. They consumed her conversation and she would gladly share photos. She also had a love of the English Springer Spaniels and one frequently by her side. Her son Robert C. Butcher precedes her in death. She is survived by her daughter Katy Butcher of Woodbine, MD; Kerry Kooyman Londergan and her husband James of Springfield, OH; and her grandchildren Isaac Butcher, Shane Everett, Braden Dubbert, Blake Dubbert, Kennedy Londergan and Caiden Londergan; her sisters Jeannine Stoll, Kathleen McCormick Lieder, and Maureen McCormick as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11 AM.
