Kathryn Hauser

Kathryn Ruby Hauser, 95, a life-long resident of Oakland, died on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on March 28, 1925, in Franklin, WV, she was the daughter of the late Don Byrd and Lura (Arbogast) Hinkle.
She was a teacher's assistant at Dennett Road Elementary for many years. She was also active member in the Deer Park VFW Auxiliary for whom she served as chaplain, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary. As an employee, she was instrumental in the start-up of the Oakland Credit Bureau.
Kathryn was the mother of, Roy L. Elliott (deceased) and wife Theresia of Sykesville, Barbara L. Elliott Ayres of Havre De Grace, Charles W. Weimer and wife Margaret of Hutton, Donna J. Hauser and husband Steve J. Tasker of Middle River, Thomas E. Hauser of Atlantic Highlands, NJ,Terry L. Hauser and wife Charlotte of Hanover, and Ricky LaVan Hauser (deceased); and a special caregiver, Robin Niner, who was like a daughter and a tresured member of the family; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Elva Jean Osborne and Betty Lou VanSickle, both of Muldraugh, KY.
In addition to her parents and two sons, she was preceded by her husband, Elmer Hauser.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Face masks and social distancing are required and if you or a family member are feeling ill, we ask that you stay home and visit with the family at a later time.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
