Jerold Milavec

Jerold "Jerry"John Milavec, 82 of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on June 13, 2023, in Ocala.

Jerry was born on March 13, 1941, in Shallmar, MD, the son of the late John F. and Beulah O. Milavec. He graduated from Elk Garden High School in 1959 and played basketball for Potomac State College on an athletic scholarship before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1960. Jerry served four years in the Navy and was honorably discharged as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate Second Class in 1964. He returned to Kitzmiller briefly and worked at Luke Mill before he relocated to Calverton, where he volunteered as a firefighter and began his career in the C&P Telephone Company (renamed Bell Atlantic and then eventually Verizon) that spanned 31 years from February 1966 to February 1997. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, socializing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his partner, Susanne Jones of Dunnellon; his loving daughters, Stacie Ann (Yanni) Athanasiadis and Tammy Lynn Jaramillo; his beloved grandchildren, Hayden Tyler Jaramillo, Allison Holly Jaramillo, Andrew Preston Silkowski and Joshua Alexander Silkowski; his sister, Joan (Earl) Keller; his niece, Rhonda (Kevin) Brooks; and his nephew, John (Sandy) Keller. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John "Junior" Milavec and his nephew, David Earl Keller.

The family will receive visitors at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St. Kitzmiller, MD 21538 on July 6, 2023, from 5 to 7 PM. Private interment will be in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
