James Tucker

James M. Tucker, 64, of Grantsville, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Goodwill Retirement Community.  Born on March 4, 1956 in Gettysburg, PA, he is the son of the late Donald A. and Nina Marie (Wagner) Tucker.  Jim is a 1975 graduate of Southern High School in Oakland, MD.  He played football under the guidance of the late, great coach LeRoy Bolding.  Jim dedicated most of his adult life employed as a welder and mechanic for 32 years at Mettiki Coal Corporation, Table Rock, MD, working in and around the coal preparation plant.  Jim enjoyed hunting all his life and especially enjoyed basing “deer camp” at Stony Acres, Steyer, MD.  He used his welding abilities to fabricate and complete many projects for himself, many friends and relatives over the years.  Jim is survived by his brother, Donald W. Tucker and spouse Janice of Loch Lynn Heights; and numerous cousins.  It is Jim’s wish to be cremated.  There will be no services at this time due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the United States.   In lieu of flowers, sympathy cards may be directed to Jim’s family.  The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland is honored to serve the Tucker family at this time.
