Jack Hauser

Jackie Allen "Jack" Hauser, 76, of Oakland died on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Ashland, OH. Born on October 1, 1947, in Red Oak, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harold H. and Ethel Alberta (Lewis) Hauser Powell.

Jack was a proud veteran of the United State Marine Corp having served during the Vietnam War and, as a member of the Deer Park VFW Post #10077, he served his community in the Combined Honor Guard. Jack worked for Bausch & Lomb for 26 1/2 years in lens manufacturing and for GCS in both delivery and assembly.

Jack's favorite things included mowing the yard, hunting, fishing, traveling, and, most of all, raising funds for veterans and participating in the Honor Guard for deceased veterans' funeral services.

He is survived his wife, Linda Grace (Weimer) Hauser; two sons, Jarrod Allen Hauser of Grantsville and Jamie Matthew Hauser and wife Cindy (Sanders) of Oakland; a grandson, Marshall Walker Hauser of Oakland; a brother, Harold "Tom" Hauser and wife Alice of Oakland; brother in law, Andre Gauthier; sister in law, Norma Hauser; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Walker Van Hauser; a brother, Robert "Bob" Hauser; a sister, Janet Gauthier; and his step-father, Jesse Powell.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 PM with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment, with military honors accorded by the combined honor guard of the Deer Park VFW Post #10077 and the Proctor Kildow Post #71, will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A meal will be served at the Deer Park VFW Post #10077 immediately following the graveside service.
