Gregory Robinette

September 6, 1953 — January 17, 2024

Aurora

Gregory Brent Robinette, Sr., 70, of Aurora WV, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Greg was born on September 6, 1953, in Marietta, OH, a son of the late Frank Wilmer Robinette, Sr. and Cora Susan "Sue" Robinette.

Greg graduated from Southern High School, class of 1971, he followed in his father's footsteps to become a Boilermaker. Completing the Boilermakers 667 Apprenticeship Program is where he honed the craft, acquiring valuable knowledge, and hands-on experience that would shape his successful career. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as hunting, fishing, and the time spent with his beloved grandchildren. His love for riding his side-by-side was not just a hobby but a way for him to spend quality time with his family. Greg took pride in his garden, showcasing his green thumb, and found joy in growing and transplanting flowers while creating stunning landscapes. He had a talent for canning and making delicious jellies, and a unique skill of knot and rope tying, he was truly an expert at everything he did. His garage was his sanctuary for tinkering and working on various projects. His passion for hands-on activities and the satisfaction of creating and fixing things manifested in the time he spent in there. This space became a haven for his creativity and a testament to his skillful craftsmanship. Greg also had a special place in his heart for fishing trips to the Outer Banks, especially when he had the opportunity to join the Rumer boys (Doug, Dave, Dan and family). He loved entertaining those around him with his skills, and always brought laughter into any room and his quick wit made him a cherished presence at family gatherings and social events. Greg never met a stranger and was always ready for a good conversation. His humor, often described as both funny and a little bit rotten, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Greg was also a proud member of the Boilermaker Union, Local 667, he dedicated over 40 years to the art of welding, earning a reputation as an expert boilermaker and a patient teacher. He will certainly be missed by his lifelong boilermaker friends.
