Freddie Stoner

March 23, 1953 — November 9, 2022

Freddie Ray Stoner, Jr., 69, of Oakland, MD, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 9, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with COPD. Born on March 23, 1953, in Waynesburg, PA, he was the beloved son of the surviving Freddie Ray Sr., and Esther Naomi (Phillips) Stoner.

Freddie proudly served in the Army National Guard as a chef and was recognized for his expert level marksmanship. He went on to become a Certified Auctioneer after receiving training at Reisch Auctioneer College in Mason City, Iowa. While working as an auctioneer, Freddie began working as a heavy equipment operator and this became his career of 25 years. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Mtn. Lake Park where he shared his voice in the church's choir. He started singing gospel music as a young child with his mother and siblings. He was a lead singer in local bands throughout the years and later worked to write and record many songs which can be heard on Spotify. Hunting and fishing with his son were truly his favorite pastimes. Freddie loved animals, especially horses, and had a true gift in training animals of all kinds. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, they were his greatest gift and brought such joy to his life. Freddie will be missed by so many, but we rejoice knowing he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Joyce C. (Healy) Stoner; children, Amanda Gesner and husband George Karlo, and William "Billy" Stoner and wife Stephanie; granddaughters, Gabriella Rottier, Kathryn Stoner, and Sage Gesner; brothers, Charles Stoner Sr. and wife Loretta, David M. Stoner, Arthur Neal Stoner and wife Linda, and Kevin T. Stoner, all of Oakland; sister, Virginia M. Upole and husband Donald of Oakland; mother-in-law, Constance Healy of Rocky Hill, CT; sisters-in-law, Ann (Healy) Tremont of Vernon, CT, Patricia (Healy) Routhier and fiancé Kim O'Dell of Wethersfield, CT, Susan (Healy) Nichols of Newington, CT and Katie Healy of Sebastian, FL.
