Eugene Jones

Eugene "Snuffy" W. Jones, 80, of Elk Garden, WV, on December 21, 2022, was called home to his Heavenly Father while he was doing what he loved, spending time on his farm. Born on November, 6, 1942, in Gorman, MD, he was the son of the late Lester E. and Edna Lee (Sager) Jones.

He was a graduate of Bayard High School and co-owned Jones Brothers Logging Company with his brother, Kermit. He enjoyed hunting with his buddies and spending time with family. He loved talking to people and never met a stranger.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean (Lemon) Jones; two sons, Michael Jones, Sr., and wife Linda, and Stephen Jones and wife Krista, all of Hartmansville, WV; seven grandchildren, Dewaine Jones and wife Jessica, Michael Jr., "MJ" Jones and girlfriend Katie Rexrode, Kenneth Jones and wife Breana, Brittany and Bucky Culbertson, Brandon, Tiffany and Alex "Tootsie" Jones; ten great-grandchildren, Sammy, Morgan, Hunter, Gabby, Gavin, Nolan, Jesse, Levi, Lane and Lily; three siblings, Wilma Reed and husband Earl of Hartmansville,WV, Kermit Jones and wife Janie, Velma Kifer and husband Ron all of Elk Garden, WV; and a sister-in-law, Delores Jones, of Bloomington, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Eugene Jones, and two brothers, Glenn Jones and Samuel L. Jones.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 2 to 7 PM at the House of Prayer, 379 Hartmansville Rd. A funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 11 AM with Pastor Leslie Hipp and Pastor James Reed officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery at Nethken Hill.
