Elizabeth Ann Glotfelty

Elizabeth Ann Glotfelty, 70, of Oakland, MD, passed at her home on September 30, 2021, after a courageous 8-year cancer battle. She was born in Oakland on June 23, 1951, to Peck and Claudine Calhoun, and was a proud lifetime Garrett County resident.

Ann worked for the Garrett County Board of Education for over 30 years, most of that time as a secretary at Southern Middle School, retiring in 2016. She loved sunflowers and the color orange, and her home was always decorated for the current season or holiday. She was a very giving person and had a pure love for living life. It is impossible to overstate how much she will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Glotfelty, Jr. "Butch"; son, Eric Glotfelty and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Jaxon and Ava Glotfelty; daughter, Jennifer Smith and husband David; mother, Claudine Calhoun; three sisters, Pat Rolf and husband Don, Lois Dolan and husband Rick, and Kim Hamilton and husband Jeff; two brothers, Ken Paugh and wife Judy and Curt Calhoun and wife Kathy; mother-in-law, Betty Glotfelty; and sister-in law, Sue Damon and husband Andy. In addition to above family, she is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Peck Calhoun; father-in-law, Donald Glotfelty Sr. "Don"; and her sister-in-law, Peggy Damon and husband Bob.

Friends will be received at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St,. Oakland on Monday, October 4th from 4 to 7 PM.. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 5th in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Matthew Paugh and Pastor Brenda Benard officiating. Due to the large family, seating will be limited. Masks are required. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Glotfelty family at this time.
