Eleanor Arnold

Eleanor Mae Arnold, 80, of Oakland, passed away on June 25, 2024, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on December 21, 1943, in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (campbell) Broadwater.

After graduating Southern High School, she worked for Cuppett & Weeks Nursing Home for over 44 years as a nurse's aid. She was a member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene and spent her life serving God and caring for her family. She was very active in church activities and was well known for singing at the church. She always put others first.

She is survived by two sons, Darrel Arnold and wife Brenda of Oakland and Adam Arnold and wife Janet of Great Cacapon, WV; five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren; and three siblings, Alberta Phillips, Nancy Stewart, and Benny Broadwater.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Taylor Arnold, Jr., and two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Broadwater and Kenny Broadwater.

Eleanor's request for cremation was honored. A celebration of life will be held on August 3, 2024, from 2 to 4 PM at the Oakland Church of the Nazarene.
