Diane Elizabeth Paugh, 69, of Kitzmiller, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Dennett Road Manor in Oakland surrounded by her family. Born on April 7, 1951, in Kitzmiller, she was the daughter of the later Walter D. Fletcher and Twila M. (Wilson) Paugh.
Diane was a devoted member of the Kitzmiller Assembly of God Church where she ministered in numerous capacities over the years including Board member, Sunday School Superintendent, youth leader, and adult Sunday School teacher. She retired from the Town of Kitzmiller after serving as the Clerk/Treasurer for more than thirty years. Diane loved reading, crocheting, knitting, family memories and history, and the Kitzmiller community.
Diane is survived by two sons, Mark A. Paugh and wife Heather of Bonaire, GA, and Matthew A. Paugh and wife Melissa of Kitzmiller; a daughter, Kara E. Lyons and husband Michael of Elk Garden, WV; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Abbie, Ashley, Jace, Madaline, Rylee, Sydney, and Tavery; a brother, Robert L. Fletcher and wife Maria Victoria; a sister, Margaret E. Michaels and husband Daniel; half-siblings, Tina Bray, George Bray, and John Bray; in-laws who were like siblings, Rosalee Evans and husband Jim, Shirley Sharpless, Joann Gregg and husband Larry, Suzie Fike and husband Carl, and David Paugh and wife Diane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Daniel R. Paugh; her stepfather, who she considered her “Dad,” James L. Paugh; biological father, Acie E. Bray; infant son, Ryan Andrew Paugh; and brother-in-law, Gary Sharpless.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St, Kitzmiller, on Monday, August 24th from 6 to 8 PM and on Tuesday, August 25th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26, at 11 AM at the Kitzmiller Assembly of God Church, 291 W Main Street, Kitzmiller, with Rev. Dr. Matthew Paugh and Rev. Lee Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, from which Diane did not succumb, face coverings are required to be worn at all times and social distancing should be observed.
