Darene G. Swartek , 64, of Oakland MD, went to be with our Lord on Sunday January 2, 2022, at her home while resting peacefully in her bed. Born on September 27, 1957, in Brownsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anna and Anthony Swartek.
She was a cancer survivor overcoming several episodes of the illness. She was a dedicated member of the Mt. Lake Baptist Church, in Oakland MD, and a housekeeper there for many years. She was fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, and always knew who the best players were. She was very happy the last years of her of her life. She had a close knit group of friends who became family. They supported each other up until the very end. She has earned her wings and is smiling over all of us now.
She is survived by two sisters, Elaine Hoffman and husband Rick of Hummelstown, PA and her twin sister, Dorene Kisselovich and Wladyk of Keswick, VA; one uncle Donald Louie and wife Nancy of Oakland, MD; three nephews, Devin Koelbl, Allen Friend and George "Benny" Friend; two nieces, Tara Koelbl and Caitlin Hoffman; Great Niece and nephew, Emily Friend and Sebastian Koelbl Downey and a host of cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Swartek of Oakland, MD, and a sister, JoAnn Swartek of Cambridge MA.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Mt. Lake Baptist Church, 1005 Broadford Road, Oakland, Md, 21550, for the fund to help build the teen activities center.
A celebration of life will be held, 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Mt. Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Leatherman officiating. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Swartek family at this time.
