Connie Gail (Martin) DeWitt, 67, of Accident, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Mon General Hospital, in Morgantown. Born on May 3, 1956, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Wayne McClain and Nina Evelyn (Riley) Martin.
Connie was a proud homemaker and caregiver. She put her children and grandchildrens' needs above her own. She loved sitting around a campfire reminiscing with family and friends while on a camping trip. She was a Mama Bear to her beloved son, Shane. She loved seeing her granddaughter's artistic side and watching her grandson play sports.
She is survived by her husband, Kris Dewitt; two children, Shonna Nicole Livengood and husband Sonny of Accident, and Shane Martin DeWitt of Accident; two grandchildren, Sydney Nicole Livengood and Hunter Riley Livengood; three sisters, Delores Evans and husband Richard, Sharon Kitzmiller and husband Dwight, and Dianna Everd; a sister in law, Sandra Iden and husband Gary; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 5 to 8 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 10 AM, in the funeral home with Pastor Daymond Schmuck officiating. Following the service, Connie will be cremated and interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Crossroads of Oakland, 39 S 3rd St., Oakland, MD 21550 or the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad Station 2 of Accident.
