Clifford Dan Warnick, 74, of Oakland died on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Hospice of WVU Ruby Memorial in Morgantown, WV. Born on November 9, 1948, in Cumberland, he was the son of Leota Beatric Warnick of Oakland and the late Charles Elwood Warnick.
He was a graduate of Southern High School and a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War. After working for Bausch & Lomb, Clifford was a coal miner with Mettiki Coal for twenty-six years. He attended the Lakeside Assembly of God and was a member of the American Legion Proctor Kildow Post #71. He enjoyed softball, bowling, hunting, fishing, camping, and, especially, spending time with his grandsons.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Clark Warnick and wife Kellie (Durst) of Oakland; two grandsons, Brayden and Gavin Warnick; sisters, Shirley Fitzwater and husband William and Julie Peterson and husband Edward, all of Oakland; a brother, Paul Warnick and wife Pam of Oakland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Ruth (Skipper) Warnick.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 4 to 6 PM and on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Joshua Fitzwater officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens with military honors accorded by the combined honor guard of the American Legion Post #71 and the Deer Park VFW Post #10077.
