Charles Overton, III

Charles A. Overton, III, 65, of Bayard, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Born on July 8, 1953, in Kansas, he is the son of the late Charles A. Overton, Jr. and Aggie M. (Gritts) Pennington. Charles was an electrician who worked in construction in the Washington, D.C. area. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #26 Washington, D.C. He loved to work around his house and watch Washington Redskins football. Charles is survived by a sister, Trudy Gaither and husband Allen of Bayard; nieces, Carrie Slaubaugh and husband James of Aurora, and Jessica Gaither of Bayard; a nephew, Noah Gaither of Bayard; great nieces and nephews, Candace, Chanda, Trevor, Cole, Hunter; and his extended family living in Indianapolis, IN and Oklahoma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Overton. In accordance with Charles wishes, he was cremated and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 2 PM at the Bayard United Methodist Church with Pastor Rebecca Bennett officiating. Interment will be held in the Bayard Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bayard United Methodist Church, PO Box 205 Bayard, WV 26707. Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland.
