Barbara Bachtel

Barbara Ann Bachtel, 87, of Oakland, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on March 16, 1934, near Kempton MD, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Lucy (Baer) Warsaw. Barbara was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Red House and worked several places in her lifetime, secretary at St. John's Church, in the cafeteria at Dennett Road School and in the Dietary Department at Garrett County Memorial Hospital. By far her most cherished "job" was mother, wife and friend to everyone.
Barbara is survived by her five sons, Gary and wife Debbie of Pasco, Washington, Gayle and girlfriend Peggy Jamison of Oakland, Carroll and girlfriend Susie Fricke of Accident, Randy and wife Susan of Westminster, and Rick and wife Tracy of Eglon, WV; eleven grandchildren, Janna Kirk, Jodie Lynch, Justin Bachtel, Jason Bachtel, Keri Rogers, Andy Bachtel, Brooks Bachtel, Nathan Bachtel, Bethany Rasche, Zack Bachtel and Marissa Bachtel; sixteen great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; a nephew, Bruce Alan Warsaw; a niece, Michaela Warsaw; one great nephew; two great nieces; and the family of Shaun Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Van (Buzz) Bachtel; her brothers, infant Clarence and Bruce Alan Warsaw; her grandson, Cheston Van Bachtel; and granddaughter, Jennifer Renee Bachtel.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM and at St. John's Lutheran Church at Red House, 3301 Garrett Hwy., Oakland from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Bishop Matthew Riegel officiating.   Interment will follow in the Red House Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. John's Church or a charity of one's choice.
