Mabel "Momma" Emajane (Tucker) Marks, 94, of Oakland, MD, passed from this life into glory with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Born on July 13, 1928, in Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Glenn and Mary "Anna" (Wyer) Tucker.
She was a factory worker at Bausch and Lomb, where she retired after several years of service. She was a member of the Point Pleasant Baptist Church in Philippi, WV, and also attended the Bruceton United Methodist Church in Bruceton Mills, WV. She was a member of Oakland Eastern Star, Cumberland Daughter's of the Nile, Ali Ghan Campers Club, Hillbilly Clan, and an Ali Ghan Clown wife and mother. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother and new great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. She was the original "Football-Baseball Mom", and Southern Rams fan.
She is survived by two sons, Lewis M. Marks II and wife Sheila of Oakland, and Kenneth F. Marks and wife Leeanna of Kitzmiller, MD; two grandsons, Kenneth "Brandon" Marks and wife Francesca of Austin, TX, and Logan Marks and wife Heather of Swanton, MD; great granddaughter, Murphee Marks; one brother, Jesse "Bing" Tucker and wife Martha; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, Lewis Milton Marks I; one sister, Joanne Miller; two brothers, Samuel Glenn Tucker and wife Jeness, and Donald Gene Tucker and wife Rella; a sister in law, Ada Lou (Marks) Ashby and husband Carrol; a brother in law, Aaron Blair Marks and wife Pearl; two nephews, Mark Ashby and Timothy Tucker; and one great niece, Michelle Tucker.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 5 to 8 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St. Oakland, MD. A private family graveside service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 1 PM in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Phillipi WV, with Reverend Timothy P. Edin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
