Mavidell V. Shillingburg, 79, of Elk Garden, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at her home. Born on May 27, 1939 in Nethken, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ruby A. Dunithan. Mavidell was always up for an adventure. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and loved to travel. A few of her quieter hobbies included cross stitch, sewing and reading. In her earlier years, she was a CRT with the Elk District Ambulance Service. Mavidell is survived by two children, Ronald Shillingburg and wife Beverly of Elk Garden and Jerri Shillingburg-Lancaster and husband James of Gwynn Oak; grandchildren, Jason Shillingburg and wife Heather, Nathan Shillingburg and wife Allison; great grandchildren, Peyton, Brayden, Rachael, Kali, Eva, Bryson and Morgan; three sisters, Lee Anna Truett and husband Tim, Edna Lombardi and Judy Conklin and husband Dennis; and a special friend, Marshall Hottle. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior L. “JR” Shillingburg in 2016 and a son, David K. Shillingburg. In accordance with Mavidell’s wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1 PM with the Rev. Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will be in Kalbaugh Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland.
