Lester Edward Brantner, Sr., age, 86 of Rockville, formerly of Elk Garden, WV and Kitzmiller, MD, died in Maryland on March 12, 2018. Born on October 16, 1931, in Elk Garden, WV, he was the son of the late Ira M. and Ethel Pearl (Allender) Brantner. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He was a life insurance agent and assistant manager for the former People’s and Monumental Life Insurance Company. He retired in 1980 after 35 years with the company. Mr. Brantner had also owned his own real estate business. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Leona (James) Brantner; three children, Lester "Eddie" Brantner, Jr. (Konni), Toni Firmani (Gary) and Nancy Brantner, all of Rockville; grandchildren, Jessica Gumm (Ira), Michael Stonestreet (Samantha) and Amy Brantner; great grandchildren, Kylie Troop, Mackenzie and Jackson Gumm, Devyn, Blake and Remington Stonestreet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Teslee Stonestreet and all of his 15 siblings. A service, with military honors, will be held at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 12 PM with Rev. Konni Brantner officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Private interment was in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
