Edward Douglas Landon, Sr.

May 10, 1944 ~ May 16, 2018 (age 74)

Edward Douglas Landon, Sr., 74, of Mt. Lake Park, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born on May 10, 1944 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Fredrick G. and Ada A. (Hostettler) Landon.  Ed was a graduate of Southern High School.  He worked for several years as a coal miner holding several positions such as mechanic, electrician and foreman with in various companies.  He was co-owner of Green Park Maintenance with his niece, Cindy.  Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman.  “Basey,” a name loving given by his grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with his family outdoors and at the family cabin.  In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling and racing cars at Eldora Raceway in Fairmont.  He was a very generous person whose caring spirit touched many lives.  He will be truly missed.  Ed is survived by his wife, Jeannie (Stottlemeyer) Landon; his children, Robin Clutter and husband Dave of Terra Alta, Amy Landon Thomas of Mt. Lake park, Edward Douglas Landon, Jr. and partner Ed Sunder of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Jeffery Douglas Landon, Ryan Freeman, Skylar Freeman, Lexi Thomas; great grandchildren, Jeffery Landon and Cooper Landon; siblings, Nancy Dean, Rose Parks and husband Norman, Alice Bell, Richard Landon and wife Marg, Ralph Landon and wife Kathy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Harold Landon and his faithful canine companion, Brodie.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2ndSt., Oakland, MD on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 3-7 PM.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 AM with Pastor Wally Weeks officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cindy’s Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550. www.csfredlockfh.com
